A VTOL UAV or drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle that able to take off, hover and land vertically. VTOL drones typically use a rotor (or multiple rotors, normally 4 or 8) configuration to provide vertical take-off and landing capability, as well as horizontal propulsion through the air in a similar way to a conventional fixed wing aircraft. 

What are the advatanges of VTOL UAV?

The VTOL UAV conbines the advantages of multirotor and fixed-wing aircraft. It does not need the runway, save the user’s working space. For example, it is hard for you to fly a fixed wing aircraft on a boat, but you can fly a VTOL. Another important advantage of VTOL UAV is that it comes with very high efficient manoeuvrability, easier to save from the crash comparing to standard fixed wings.
